The Yemen Policy Center (YPC) is seeking a Research Analyst (50%) to contribute to our work on Yemen’s political economy, security dynamics, the UN-led peace process, and governance in the framework of the Yemen Flexible Funding Mechanism funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (UK). We particularly welcome applications from Yemeni researchers with a background in political science or peace and conflict studies and a strong interest in Yemen’s complex socio-political landscape.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality reports based on in-depth research on Yemen’s political economy, the UN-led peace process, governance, and security dynamics.
- Monitor, evaluate and summarize relevant political and security developments in Yemen via media, think tank reports and other sources.
- Engage with a diverse network of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to enhance research outputs.
- Represent the organization in workshops, and policy discussions.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Political Science, Economics, Middle Eastern Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience in research and analysis, preferably focusing on Yemen.
- Strong understanding of Yemen’s political economy, security dynamics, and governance structures.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills, with the ability to produce clear and compelling research outputs.
- Proficiency in qualitative research methods.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (required).
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
- Good time management skills, reliable communication and availability.
- Preferably based in the Middle East.
