Odai Al-Qadhi

Associate Fellow

Odai Al-Qadhi joined the Yemen Policy Center as an Associate Fellow in 2022. His research interests lie in health management, health system strengthening, and policy, as well as the fact that as a public health practitioner, community health concerns and diseases are his priorities.

War broke out in Yemen a few months before he graduated from medical school. As a doctor, he faced many challenges in practicing medicine in health facilities affected by the conflict. As a consequence, he spent the following five years working in the health sector, supporting programs with several INGOs, and two of those years as a project manager. And there he found his passion for specializing in public health and health management.

He holds an MSc in Public Health from the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, where he focused on health system policy and management, as well as a BSc in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Aden University. He is currently based in The Netherlands.
