Programs Manager

Lia Redecker joined the Yemen Policy Center as Programs Manager in 2021. Prior to YPC, she was a country officer for all Arab countries at the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin. There she gained important knowledge about economic relations between Germany and the Arab countries, and was able to develop her project management skills. She developed an interest in the Arab world, and Yemen in particular, early on. She lived in Yemen as a teenager, even finishing high school at Sana’a International School. After leaving Yemen, Lia moved to Maastricht, the Netherlands, for her Bachelor’s degree and then went on to the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) where she gained her Master’s degree in Development Studies.
