Ala Mohsen

Research Analyst

Ala Mohsen is a doctoral researcher in political science and Middle East studies with a regional focus on Yemen, the Gulf States, and Turkey. His work concentrates on social movements, rebel groups, contentious politics, conflict dynamics, and international relations of the region.

As part of his doctoral studies, Ala has worked as a teaching assistant for various political science courses, including Middle East politics, US National Government, Political Analysis, and Strategic Games. Recently, Ala’s assumed the role of an Associate Instructor, where he has begun teaching his own introductory courses, starting with comparative politics in summer 2023.

Beyond academia, Ala provides analysis of Middle East politics, especially on security, conflict, and geostrategic issues. Additionally, he also engages in policy debates through participation in webinars, conferences, and other media appearances.
